About
I bring over 26 years of experience working with children and adolescents as a school counselor in the Long Beach Unified School District. I've spent many years creatively engaging kids and teens to help them navigate difficult issues. I'm particularly passionate about helping children and parents build more positive connections amid behavioral, relationship, mental health, and academic challenges.
In our sessions, I use a “schema therapy” approach, integrating cognitive-behavioral, attachment, and psychodynamic theories, along with experiential methods. This approach helps identify your underlying needs, whether you’re a child or an adult. For adults, I assist in recognizing and addressing unmet childhood emotional needs that might be affecting your current struggles. I deeply value the relationship between faith and personal growth, and I can help you understand how faith development plays a role in your journey.
You'll find that I establish rapport and trust quickly, creating a safe and warm therapeutic space. My extensive experience as a school counselor allows me to connect with young clients effectively, maximizing their growth potential. I’m here to support you and your family in fostering healthier and more fulfilling connections.
