About

When we grow up in a difficult home, experience a toxic work environment, or are oppressed by a broken social system, it’s difficult to see ourselves. It’s like looking at one’s self in a mirror at a funhouse where the image is distorted. This can affect us in many ways, causing depression, anxiety, poor self-image, relational challenges, issues in school or work, and many more. I believe my role as a therapist is to hold up an accurate “mirror” that helps clients see themselves correctly and clearly.

My goal is to use my personal experience and professional expertise to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients can come to recognize and become the best version of themselves, and use their newly discovered “inner expert” to create a new and fulfilling way of living and relating to others most healthily and authentically possible, whether partnered or single.

As a therapist, I come alongside individuals and couples who courageously examine their concerns and issues (e.g., relationships, behavioral patterns/habits, thinking patterns, difficult emotions, fears, etc.) and learn to behave and communicate differently over time through understanding, acceptance, and healing.

When working with couples, I assist both parties in being able to understand and communicate their points of view and to see each other’s points of view without negating the experience of the other. I also enjoy helping couples prepare for committing to one another, whether in marriage or living together, and working through the challenges of combining lives, families, and households.

I know from personal experience the courage it takes to trust a therapist enough to share your innermost wounds and to be vulnerable with your insecurities. I also know the healing and transformation that can come when you dare to trust despite being afraid. I feel blessed and honored to be able to come alongside clients as they step out in hope and faith and seek healing and restoration. Thank you in advance for allowing me to be a part of your healing journey.

What I Do in My Free Time

In my free time, I enjoy walking on the beach with my puppy dog, spending time with family and friends, and reading. I also foster youth and am involved in the foster/adoptive parenting community.
