Catherine is attentive to the details of relational and emotional patterns, helping each person understand themselves better and helping them develop new capacities to connect and heal their relationships with elf and others. From a theoretical standpoint, she practices from a psychodynamic orientation. Though sometimes brief in nature, usually his is longer term work because of the deeper level of change desired.
Catherine also integrates other practices, such as EMDR (to treat trauma), into this general orientation. She is an alumna of the EMDRIA training. Catherine is a member of CAMFT. Catherine is also a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator, a helpful tool for couples.
Integration of spirituality with relational and psychological growth is a significant area of education and practice. Also of particular interest is the recovery from negative spiritual experiences/beliefs, and spiritual development and change. For those who desire it, the integration of Christian spirituality and psychology can provide a desired holistic approach. Catherine’s experience as a pastor and years in full-time ministry also help her connect with some of the particular needs of those in full-time ministry.

Catherine gives out of the abundance that she has gained educationally, clinically, and in her own process of spiritual and relational growth.
She is in the process of writing, “Soul Restoration: Transformation from the Inside Out,” a resource used by many pursuing deeper relational healing and discipleship of the soul. She has also spoken at various churches and conferences.
“It takes a lot of courage to make a first appointment for therapy. Even if you feel like you’re making the appointment as a last resort for healing, you are being courageous. I look forward to offering a safe space where together we can process your needs and where you can experience being seen and cared for in the deep parts of the soul. In his process I trust that the intimacy, acceptance, change, relief and creativity you need will emerge! I look forward to hearing from you.”

About:
Sometimes, life feels like you’ve lost your melody and can’t find where you belong in the symphony of life. My passion is to help you feel truly seen and loved. Therapy for me, is about diving into the depths with you, where we can uncover and restore goodness, beauty, and love.
As a musician, and previous church staff member, I understand the intricacies of ministry, and enjoy working with individuals needing care from church experiences. Specializing in trauma therapy utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I focus on healing posttraumatic stress disorder and complex trauma. Whether working with adults, children, or couples, I bring a unique approach to each session. In couples therapy, I blend Emotionally Focused Therapy with How We Love (attachment therapy) to reignite connection and intimacy. In child therapy, I utilize music therapy, drawing from my previous role as an Elementary Music Teacher.
In our sessions, I’ll psycho-educate around trauma and attachment. We’ll collaborate on goals aimed at bringing you more peace and connection in your life, while addressing trauma symptoms through action (not just talking in circles). I’ll challenge faulty core beliefs from time to time as your advocate and hold space for all your emotions and experiences.
Together, we will sit, wrestle, and re-write hurt stories. We’ll navigate life’s hurts, helping you find your place in the symphony and rediscover your own rhythm. If you would like more information, please reach out for a free consultation where we can get to know each other. I am honored to start the journey with you towards healing and growth!

She will help you discover how to care for yourself and that, with practice, no one will be able to do that better than you. Her goal is to use her own professional expertise to create a safe and gently nurturing environment where you can come to recognize the best version of yourself, and use your newly discovered “inner expert” to create a new and fulfilling way of living and relating to others in the healthiest and most authentic way possible.
Vickie knows that this kind of therapy is important because it provides an opportunity for you to engage with a therapist who comes alongside you as you courageously examine your concerns and issues (e.g., relationships, behavioral patterns/habits, thinking patterns, difficult emotions, fears, etc.) Whatever your concerns or issues may be, it is very important to have someone outside of your natural support system who can relate to you with no strings attached and without any of the ulterior motives that can often come from very well-meaning people in your social or familial system.
Vickie believes that if we grow up in a toxic home environment, experience a toxic work environment or are pushed down by a broken social system, it’s difficult to see ourselves clearly. It is kind of like looking at one’s self in a mirror in a funhouse where self-image is distorted. Vickie believes her role as therapist is to hold up a “mirror” that helps clients see themselves accurately and clearly.
Vickie has experience working with adults, couples and families as well as at-risk youth and teens. She has furthered her couples and pre-marital training by becoming certified in Gottman levels 1 and 2 (a leading couples therapy treatment model) and is also a certified Prepare-Enrich (a helpful couples and pre-marital tool) facilitator. Vickie views her strength in couples’ work as her ability to assist both parties in being able to see each other’s points of view without negating the experience of either person.
Vickie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the Soul Restoration Project. She completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage in Family Therapy at Azusa Pacific University where she was awarded special honors for her “Servant’s Heart.”
“I know from personal experience the courage it takes to trust a therapist enough to share your innermost wounds and to be vulnerable with your insecurities. I also know the healing and transformation that can come when you dare to trust despite being afraid. I feel blessed and honored to be able to come alongside clients as they step out in hope and faith, seek healing and restoration. Thank you in advance for allowing me to be a part of your healing journey.”
